"CALPIRG Students works on college campuses to make sure our peers have the skills, opportunities and training they need to create a better, more sustainable future for all of us."

My generation has the potential to enact long-lasting changes in our state's climate change management procedures. CALPIRG trains and empowers college students to rally their communities and politicians to prioritize our planet.

ROLE: Lead Grassroots Coordinator

Once a week, I got to train a group of 20+ student volunteers to stick up for the Earth. We phone banked to hundreds of community members, wrote letters to local newspapers, and ultimately pitched research-based proposals to sitting CA senators on behalf of SB 467 (fracking ban), SB 617 (Solar Access Act), and AB 525 (offshore wind energy utilization).

IMPACT: Engaged hundreds of college students in the fight for conservation, proved to politicians that their constituents are demanding progressive and swift legislative action to protect our planet.
